Garrett McElver
Music Supervisor, SuperMusicVision

I’ve always found comfort in connecting with music that soundtracks our discomfort. Whether it be a troubled relationship, politics, cultural movements, isolation, anxiety, insecurities... I look to music to help process those feelings, and to provide a way to put that energy into an experience that is ultimately cathartic and heeling. So during isolation, I wanted to create a playlist of mostly new music that takes you on a journey of personal and global struggles. Leaning on catchy punk, indie rock, bedroom pop, and emo, with some curve balls thrown in. We’re all in this together, and it’s okay to be sad. Maybe one of these songs will provide some perspective that will help even just a bit.
